About Us

Bay Area Colon & Rectal Surgeons a Division of Bass Medical Group consists of 3 highly qualified, board certified surgeons experienced in the field of general surgery & colon and rectal surgery. We primarily serve Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano Counties in California, but welcome referrals from outside our geographic area.

Dr. Poornima Vanguri and Dr. Negar Salehomoum, two colorectal and general surgeons from Bay Area Colon and Rectal Surgeons, have been chosen as our 2022 Champion Award winners! This award is presented to volunteers who have effectively encouraged their peers to participate with our program, and have played critical roles in implementing the program at their medical centers. They recognize that it takes a village to bring health and healing to a whole community. Both physicians have been volunteering with our program for over two years and, in that time, have provided 72 services to community members in need. Their dedication to our program has been outstanding and truly appreciated by everyone at our organization. Our patients love to share that their encounters with these surgeons are always memorable as they are both compassionate and generous. They do everything they can to support our mission to provide the highest quality of care to our underserved patient population. Their kindness and professionalism are exemplary, and for this reason, and many more, we are thrilled to recognize them.
